MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATION AND RIGHTS
4.1 Membership is open to Healthcare Professionals registered with National Professional Registers or Associations. The categories of membership are as outlined below.
4.2 Active Members are Healthcare professionals who:
a) are Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents or Singapore work pass holders;
b) accept the Bylaws and the obligations of this membership;
c) subscribe to the aims of the association; and
d) in the final judgment of the Committee, are in good standing in their communities.
Only Active Members who are above 21 years of age shall have the right to vote and to hold office in the Society.
4.3 Life Members are Active Members who, within one-year period, pay an amount equal to fifteen times the annual dues prescribed for Active Membership. Only Life Members who are above 21 years of age shall have the right to vote and to hold office in the Society.
4.4 Student Members are students whose field of study is associated with healthcare and are enrolled in institutions in Singapore or abroad. Student Members shall have no right to vote or to hold office in the Society.
4.5 Honorary Membership may be conferred upon any person by the Committee or persons who have reached the age of 55 years, and who have retired from active professional practice in Singapore. Honorary Members shall have the right to vote but they shall have no right to hold office in the Society.
4.6 Emeritus Members are Active Members who, upon retirement from their professions apply for Emeritus Membership. Emeritus Members shall not have the right to vote or to hold office in the Society
4.7 Persons who are below 18 years of age shall not be accepted as members without the written consent of their parent or guardian.
